The physical education program provides students with physical activity opportunities both in and out of school through a differentiated program that fosters a lifetime commitment to physical activity as part of a healthy lifestyle. Physical education will also instil students with the knowledge, skills, and values to make appropriate physical activity choices to integrate exercise into their lives.
At KS3 students cover a range of sports that develop differing skills such as aesthetic appreciation, communication and teamwork. The aim is to give students a broad experience that will allow them to succeed both at GCSE level and in life. During KS4 theoretical understanding is developed through topics such as health, body and competitions. At this time students will be assessed in a range of sports with the four highest contributing to GCSE PE.
