Health & Social Care

The Level 2 Technical Award in Health and Social Care enables learners to develop knowledge, understanding and skills in relation to the health and social care sector.

The qualification covers:

- An introduction to the health and social care sector

- Professional practice and the health and social care practitioner

- Human growth and development through the life stages

The qualification gives a broad and sufficiently in-depth base from which Level 2 learners at Stage 4 in their compulsory education can begin to make informed decisions concerning future career goals and aspirations. To promote the highest aspirations amongst students they are provided with job roles that link to each unit of work.

By completing three extensive core mandatory units, learners will explore key areas within health and Social care in order to establish a firm foundation from which future knowledge can develop and grow.

Students are encouraged to develop resilience, self belief and self motivation through regular praise and encouragement to reach target grades or above.  Students are provided with varied lessons to suit all learning needs so that they are able to reach academic potential. Guest speakers from different job roles are invited into school to motivate and illustrate what they can achieve.
